Beginning January 1, 2019, mental health and substance use treatment will no longer be provided by Optum Pierce Behavioral Health Organization (BHO). Instead, your Apple Health plan will cover your medical and mental health and substance use treatment. This change will not reduce any of your benefits. Pierce County residents enrolled in an Apple Health plan will continue to have access to all the same services you currently do but Washington state will pay for them differently.
The four Apple Health plans availabe in Pierce County are
- Coordinated Care
- Molina Healthcare
- United Healthcare of Washington
Clients enrolled in these plans do not need to do anything. If you are currently enrolled with Community Health Plan of Washington, you will automatically be enrolled in one of the plans listed above.
